THE SIMPLE LIFE

The ordinary man adds something each day,
The sage gives up something each day.
Taoist saying

The conventional belief encourages us to increase and add to the identity of our personal self…which means we are continuously preoccupied with ways of achieving this goal…however we seem to ignore the fact that when our conscious mind is most relaxed and carefree do we experience the most contentment and fulfillment…it turns out subtraction can be more important than addition.

Our minds are filled up with clutter and junk making it impossible to simply enjoy an awareness of the “now”…the question is what are we able to “give up” or “let go” of in order to begin cleansing our mind of all unnecessary blocks preventing a clear perception of life.

This can occur by giving up the many unnecessary expectations and goals which control our thoughts and feelings …with each letting go there will be a feeling of lightness since we are also freeing our self from the experience of “heaviness”.

Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just baggage enough. ~Author Unknown
