“A moment’s insight is sometimes worth a life’s experience.”~Oliver Wendall Holmes

Insight is often referred to as an experience of “eureka” or “aha!”…some of the characteristics of this process is the determination to find a solution to a problem and the willingness to give all of our energy to find an answer…after much frustration and disappointment the search ends and suddenly an insight may occur in a flash, appearing out of thin air, seemingly coming from some unknown source.

The process happens when the conscious mind becomes exhausted with its analytical and focused thinking… and gives up on its aggressive thought process…however during all the time of the search, the intuitive process has been exploring all the vast resources of the subconscious mind but unable to communicate its finding until the rational mind becomes silent…an intense conscious search is necessary in order to energize the intuitive mind to look in depth for an answer.

Perhaps a simple example which we all have experienced is the struggle of trying to recollect a forgotten name…and find when we give up in frustration, the name flows up into our awareness…and this sudden response seems to come from our intuitive mind.

“We must walk consciously only part way toward our goal, and then leap in the dark to our success.’~Henry David Thoreau
