CREATIVITY

“Creativity is the power to connect the seemingly unconnected.” ~William Plomer

It is our rational mind that separates everything, but our intuitive mind is capable of sensing connections and interrelationships…this can be compared to what we learned when studying arithmetic fractions… the narrow rational mind identifies with separate numerators while the expanded intuitive mind takes on the role of seeing common denominators and the large picture…both are needed to find satisfactory solutions…unfortunately, the rational mind dominates our education at the expense of losing much of our creativity.

Creativity occurs when our rational mind suspends it intense efforts to think of answers…this allows an expansion of our intuitive mind to visualize a new and different way to solve a challenging situation….the emotional intensity of our search is important since this is what fuels intuition to search for its answer….or it could simply be a passionate curiosity as the motivating factor.

  1. The intuitive personality is usually “inner directed” and often enjoys going on creative inner trips….I could be labeled an introverted but no longer take that label seriously…

  2. I have high intuition but it is also introverted. So I tend to analyze all the details and come up with a conclusion. I would definitely think I am way more creative than being ‘rational’.
