FLOW IS “NOW”

“This is the real secret of life– to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.” — Alan Wilson Watts

Being in the “now” most frequently occurs in activities done for its own intuitive pleasure with the experience being the primary interest…..it is free from preoccupations with the self… and performed for intrinsic satisfaction usually by people when they are inner directed …. These activities are different from being externally driven, where things such as comfort, money, power, or fame are the motivating force.

Those who are primarily focused on “now” activities are more autonomous and independent because they are not dependent on rewards from the outside. And when involved in “now” activities, they are more related with everything around them since they are fully immersed in the flow of life.
