FLOW IS PLAY

“This is the real secret of life– to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.” — Alan Wilson Watts

For most people, play is seen as a casual and recreational activity occurring during a period of relaxation from hard work…the American dream is “hard work and follow the rules” offering us the opportunity for a successful life.

The intuitive personality looks in a different direction…they believe in “deep play” as the way toward a creative and meaningful lifestyle…they follow their natural and intuitive imagination by continuing to develop their childhood joy of play.

The reason their play is ” deep” is because it is necessary to travel to the depths of the intuitive mind where all the insights are hidden…it is an exciting adventure and at times they may lose awareness of self and sense of time…unlike hard work which requires forced energy, deep play is effortless and can bring about a feeling of  being totally immersed in life.

Life must be lived as play.~~Plato

Almost all creativity involves purposeful play.~~Abraham Maslow

The true object of all human life is play.~~G. K. Chesterton

Man is most nearly himself when he achieves the seriousness of a child at play.~~Heraclitus

You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.~~Plato

The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct.~~Carl Jung

The creative mind plays with the objects it loves. ~ Carl Jung
